About me:

Marit Fält is a multiinstrumentalist, best known for her rhythmically inventive playing on the låtmandola.

Born in Norway, with Swedish parents, she has studied traditional music in Norway, Sweden and the folk degree at Newcastle University. Having finished her studies, she is now based in Edinburgh.

She has toured the UK and internationally with several collabirators, but is perhaps best known for playing with Rona Wilkie, with whom she won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections 2012.

Marit also plays cittern, bouzouki, mandolin, fiddle  and guitar, as well as teaching on all these instruments, either in one-to-one lessons or workshops.
